Located in the heart of Bourgogne, La Boutonnière is ideally situated for a fabulous holiday. Close to Burgundy’s four great wine regions, the beautiful Morvan Regional Park, and the stunning cliffs of Cormot-le-Grand, La Boutonnière is the perfect location for enjoying the outdoors. Whether cycling, walking, rock climbing or simply sitting back and watching the birds in the trees, there is something for everyone in this part of Burgundy.
For the more historically minded, the area has numerous châteaux to explore, including our neighbour, the Château de Sully, as well as excellent museums in Beaune, Dijon and Autun, all within a 1-hour drive.

The Garden
Our home covers 7.5 acres of private grounds, including a permaculture vegetable garden, orchards, woods, pastures, and a lake.
The Region
La Boutonnière is in the Dree Valley, on the border of the Côte d’Or and Saône-et-Loire regions, both of which have a strong wine growing heritage.
Walking
There are beautiful walks through the surrounding countryside, many of which are accessible from the doorstep.
Cycling
Burgundy is a wonderful region to explore by bike, thanks to its superb network of quiet roads and cycleways. The local voie verte (greenway) is just a stone’s throw from the gite.
Climbing
The nearby crags at Cormot-le-Grand (and throughout the area) provide a wide range of sport climbing options from French grade 4 to 8c.
